"In an ideal world, we would all be secure and confident all the time. We would eat what we want, and exercise simply to be healthy and strong. We would link arms and take to the streets in the Prettylution declaring, "I AM PRETTY! I ROCK! SHUT UP!" We wouldn't need anyone or anything to reinforce that for us, that's how confident we would be. In an ideal world."--Doom Song
I too am quite envious of daggad's hair. It's always so shiny and super cute.
So, fyi, I dyed my hair BLACK back in November. At first, I think it was just too dark for me and a bit too bluish black. However, it's faded and I like it
a lot better now that it's faded a bit. However, I feel like my hair falls out a lot easier now. Thankfully I have a TON of hair and grow hair easily
enough but I have a lot of hair growing along the hairline on my forehead. It looks totally dumb, ugh. I can't wait until that hair grows to a decent
length.
I'm in desperate need of a new cut too. My hair's been a bit flat lately.
Wow, it's been many months since we talked about hair. I got my hair cut yesterday! view from the side - This time we kept the overall length
but layered the heck out of it. It looks a little flat in those pictures because I walked home from my Target trip after my haircut.
I got my first haircut since December today, and I was forced to get bangs because my post-pregnancy growout was terrible -- i had a halo of like 3-4 inches of
hair all along my hairline, so I practically had bangs. Anyway, I hate having bangs, but I thought I just didn't have good ones before. Either these are
still bad ones or my hair just can't do cute bangs. Sigh. I think they are too thin or something. You guys with good bangs need to give some pointers. I
will post a pic at some point.
Kicks, do you know the bang blow-drying technique? I only learned it a couple of years ago and it changed my life. You take a flat brush and
blow your bangs all to one side, brushing them pretty hard, then all the other direction, still brushing hard. Alternate directions a couple of times over, and
then end by using the brush to give them a tiny bend under. Doing it this way manages to overcome not only my widow's peak, but also the cowlicks I have on
either side of the peak.
So that falling-out thing you all warned me about? Is here, in a major way. I'm pulling literal handfuls out after showers. Thank god for a good vacuum. I
haven't cut my hair since August and it's now longer than it's been in my adult life--past my bra strap in the back! I have to make an
appointment this week, since I'm not yet so sick of it I want to cut it all off. I just want to take it up to my shoulders so it doesn't take
all day to dry.
Steph, you are a genius! I don't hate my hair today! My stylist wasn't feeling great and had to hurry, so she didn't really style
my hair well, so I spent five hours at a party after the haircut with one lock of bangs in the middle of my forehead.
Sorry to her about the hair-falling-outage. Mine came out in huge handfuls from about three months till almost seven, and now it's growing back with a
vengeance. (Hence the bangs.)

Oh, how I hate those little stubby pieces. I have them at my temples, essentially, and they tend to stick up and otherwise be annoying. I'm
not sure if they're breakage or re-growth or what, but I hope they grow quickly!
Daggad, the new cute is super cute. I, too, am jealous of your hair.
I love technological advances that allow us to see a random person blow-dry bangs! It almost makes me want bangs. I had them until about 10th grade, back in
the day when you curled them up with a curling iron and did the hairspray, and then they would fall down through the day and go feathered and bad. I'm kind
of scarred. And now my hair has gone thin, so if I had bangs I think the horizontal part where they start would look bald, maybe.
Edit:
This just in! Although I don't have bangs, I kind of did that blowdry technique on the hair that would be bangs. And it seems to have helped the the
temple-area swooshy thing that makes me look all mom-jeansy. Wow!

I am getting my hair cut by my stepmom's stylist while I am home over the 4th of July. I am seriously considering getting bangs for the first time in more
than 20 years. Help?
I am growing out both bang and super-short (for me anyway) hair. Think Katie Holmes when she first cut it short. I've been growing it out since November,
and it has finally reached my shoulders and I'm finally through that awkward stage. I'm getting my hair cut and colored on Saturday, and I'm
thinking that I'm going to go red. I think I'll get her to give me some highlights, then dye the whole thing red so that it will give me brighter red
color without horrible roots (my hair is very dark naturally).
Who wants to find me a new haircut? I'm super-bored with what I have now (just below shoulder-length, grown-out layers, growing-out bangs) and want to do
something new before school starts. I'd like to find something shorter that's nearly as easy as a ponytail (which is what I've been wearing for the
last 7 months), though I'm willing to do blowdrying. For reference, I look like this, though usually without cake.
